The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Zonal Office in Lahore collabration with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), successfully raided an illegal Internet service provider (ISP) that was operating in Punjab University Town-II, Lahore.
A working internet setup that was being used without a license was discovered during the raid. A single individual has been placed under arrest and pertinent equipment, consisting of 02 ONTs and 5 OLTs, has been seized. The FIA is legally pursuing additional investigation.
PTA’s resolute dedication, ongoing oversight, and relentless attempts to curtail illicit internet services are responsible for the success of the campaign against unlawful internet service providers. By stopping tax evasion and revenue misreporting, these steps significantly reduce the amount of money lost to the national coffers.
In order to prevent unexpected service interruptions, PTA advises the public to exclusively use telecom services from PTA-licensed providers
