Islamabad, June 19, 2025: Pakistan’s telecom industry has achieved a landmark milestone as mobile subscribers cross the 200 million mark nationwide. To honor this historic achievement, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is offering free internet and on-net call minutes to all telecom users across the country on June 20, 2025.

As part of the celebration, PTA has announced a one-day exclusive package: users will receive 2GB of free mobile data and 200 on-net call minutes, valid for 24 hours. This offer can be availed by dialing *#2200# from any mobile network in Pakistan.

This major milestone reflects the growing digital adoption in Pakistan. Recent figures from PTA show that mobile subscriptions now exceed 197.7 million, covering over 80% of the population. In addition, broadband connections have surged to 150 million, while fixed-line telephone users stand at 3.75 million.

To commemorate this digital achievement, a high-profile event will be held at PTA Headquarters in Islamabad, bringing together telecom giants, mobile manufacturers, and senior officials. The event aims to highlight the progress in connectivity and discuss future strategies to enhance digital access in Pakistan.

In a bid to include the public in the celebration, mobile network operators (MNOs) will roll out free voice and data bundles nationwide. Additionally, mobile device manufacturers (MDMs) are supporting the event by donating 10–15 smartphones, which will be distributed through a lucky draw during the ceremony.
