Islamabad, Aug 12, 2025: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has put a one-month hold on the license of IJ Internet Services (Private) Limited, or until all pending dues are settled. The decision came under Section 23 of the Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organization) Act, 1996, following an enforcement order.
This action was taken because the company failed to clear its Annual License Fee (ALF) for the year ending June 30, 2022, along with the Late Payment Additional Fee (LPAF). Despite several reminders and notices, the dues remained unpaid.
According to PTA records, IJ Internet Services received its non-exclusive license in August 2014 to operate Data Class Value Added Services. Under the license terms, the operator must provide annual audited accounts and pay the ALF within 120 days after the financial year ends. Between October 2022 and January 2025, PTA sent multiple letters and emails to the company, but there was no compliance.
A Show Cause Notice was issued on January 3, 2024, giving the company seven days to settle the amount and 30 days to explain in writing. A hearing was fixed for May 9, 2024, at PTA Headquarters, Islamabad.

However, the company neither replied to the notice nor attended the hearing. It also failed to provide an updated address, which is mandatory under regulations. Even a final deadline of January 31, 2025, was ignored.
The hearing panel, made up of senior PTA officials, decided to proceed ex-parte. The order warns that if the company does not comply during the suspension, its license will be permanently revoked. Moreover, all Long Distance International (LDI), Local Loop (LL), Telecommunication Infrastructure Provider (TIP), and mobile operators have been instructed to stop telecom facilities to the licensee until further orders.
