Deputy Commissioner Narowal, Syed Hassan Raza, has declared a public holiday across the district on November 1, Saturday to mark the Urs of Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Lathani of Alipur Saydan Sharif. An official notification from the DC office confirmed the holiday.

The district government’s notification added that despite the holiday, essential services such as hospitals, emergency departments, police and municipal staff will continue to perform their duties to ensure public convenience.

According to district administration, a large number of devotees from all over the country are expected to attend the Urs celebrations at Alipur Saydan Sharif. Like every year, special arrangements are being made for the smooth conduct of the event.

Strict security measures will be in place under the direction of the district administration to ensure peace and safety. Police, Rescue 1122, and health department teams have been assigned special duties for the occasion.

Deputy Commissioner Hassan Raza has urged the public to cooperate with the district administration and maintain peace during the Urs celebrations. He emphasized that Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah’s message of unity, peace and brotherhood is vital in today’s time and should be followed by everyone.
