Islamabad, July 15, 2025: CDA has ordered the removal of a sculpture at the junction of Iran Avenue and Margalla Road over public criticism

The artwork featuring two outstretched hands holding circular orbs was being installed by a private housing society as part of its corporate social responsibility campaign. However, uploads of the structure circulating online sparked mockery and criticism about its relevance for a major public space.

In the beginning confusion led many to believe the sculpture was a CDA project. Later it was made clear that the installation was a private initiative undertaken without formal approval from the administration.

Addressing the growing backlash, the CDA directed instant removal of the structure. As of July 15, machinery and labour were on site carrying out the demolition process.
