Pakistan has achieved a significant milestone in rescue and relief operations, as the Punjab government has acquired an airlift drone for flood-affected people. The state-of-the-art drone can carry and safely transport a person weighing up to 200 kilograms.
According to Dawn News, the Secretary of Interior Punjab ordered the deployment of the advanced airlift drone to Multan for rescuing flood victims. Prior to sending it to southern Punjab, the Civil Defense in Lahore completed the drone’s test flights.
The Secretary revealed that a decision has been made to purchase 10 more airlift drones for Civil Defense. This is the first emergency airlift drone service of its kind in Pakistan.
He added that the Punjab Civil Defense Resilience Corps is being modernized, and the drone service allows safe airlifting of people from inaccessible and dangerous locations.
