Islamabad, May 29, 2025: The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) and the Punjab Education Initiatives Management Authority (PEIMA) have declared a fixed monthly salary of Rs. 20,000 for teachers serving in partner schools, which will also be paid during summer vacations.

In the past, teachers at these partner schools were receiving salaries ranging from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 8,000 per month, with no payment often made during the summer break.

However, the School Education Department has now officially directed all concerned parties to ensure full monthly payments of Rs. 20,000 throughout the vacation period.

Partner institutions have been asked to keep a digital record of all salary transactions for accountability purposes. According to department representatives, more than 10,000 schools are currently affiliated with PEF and PEIMA in Punjab, collectively employing over 30,000 regular teachers.

This move is designed to secure financial well-being for teachers and uphold their employment rights even when schools remain close for longer durations.
