Islamabad, Mar 17, 2025: In a significant move toward standardizing education and improving evaluation systems, the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has declared that from the upcoming academic session, Class 8 students will undergo board examinations.
This development marks a shift from the previous practice, where individual schools conducted exams internally.
The newly introduced framework aims to promote uniformity and transparency in student assessments throughout the province.
Under this revised system, Class 8 students will appear for exams at designated centers rather than within their own institutions.
To ensure an unbiased process, external supervisors, including educators from different schools and PSEB officials, will monitor the examination proceedings.
Additionally, answer scripts will be graded by teachers from various schools to prevent any evaluation bias.
This initiative is part of PSEB’s broader strategy to enhance educational standards and better equip students for future board examinations.
Introducing a standardized exam format at this level will provide students with essential experience, helping them gauge their academic standing more effectively and laying a strong foundation for subsequent assessments.
Meanwhile, matriculation exams for grades 9 and 10 are currently in progress across Punjab’s nine Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs).
The board will commence 12th-grade examinations on April 29, while 11th-grade exams will begin on May 20.
To uphold the integrity of the examination process, PSEB has implemented stringent security measures.
These include the installation of CCTV cameras at all exam centers, the enforcement of Section 144 to prevent unauthorized gatherings, and the strict prohibition of mobile phones and other restricted items within examination halls.

Additionally, law enforcement agencies actively secure the transport of examination papers and monitor test centers to prevent any instances of malpractice.
By implementing these changes, PSEB aims to create a more structured and credible evaluation system, ensuring students receive a fair and transparent academic assessment while preparing them for higher-level board examinations effectively.
