Punjab has officially declared Saturday, 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal as a public holiday in honor of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).

On this day, all government offices will remain closed, while the Civil Secretariat will observe its routine Saturday closure. In hospitals, only emergency services will be available, as OPDs and administrative offices will remain shut. With Sunday being the regular weekend off, citizens will enjoy a two-day holiday.

Meanwhile, preparations for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) have reached their peak across the country. Homes, mosques, streets, and main roads are illuminated with lights, and gatherings are being organized to honor the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

In Karachi, especially in areas like Mehmoodabad, vibrant celebrations have already begun with stalls selling flags, decorative lights, and Islamic items.

Stall owners expressed that celebrating the Prophet’s birth is a matter of faith, while also emphasizing the importance of following his Sunnah. Each year, the start of Rabi-ul-Awwal brings an increase in footfall at these stalls, reflecting the spiritual devotion of the people.
