Islamabad, May 12, 2025: The government of Punjab has officially announced the summer vacation for all public and private schools and colleges across Punjab.
The vacations will begin on June 1 and continue until August 9, 2025. The announcement was made by Punjab Secretary Schools Education Khalid Nazir Wattoo, as reported by 24NewsHD TV.
Wattoo added that if temperature rise beyond safe level in the coming days, the vacation schedule could be revised keeping in mind the safety and health of students.

“If heat levels become unusually high, vacations may begin a week earlier,” he stated.
All necessary arrangements for the vacation period have already been finalized by the School Education Department.
The announcement comes amid growing cautions from climate experts who say that increasing heatwaves, driven by climate change, are impacting education, health, and economic stability.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has also issued a set of precautionary measures for schools to follow before summer vacation.
These include ensuring classrooms are well-ventilated, fans and cooling fans are fully functional, and first-aid counters are established with trained staff ready to handle any heat-related emergencies.
