The Punjab government has decided to launch 25 major development projects across the province, including the construction of underpasses, flyovers and the widening of key roads. These projects, with an estimated cost of Rs. 88.65 billion, are set to begin soon.

A high-level meeting was chaired by Punjab’s Minister for Communication and Works, Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bherth, where officials briefed him on the progress and planning of all 25 projects. The meeting was also attended by senior officers from the Communication and Works Department, who shared detailed updates on each scheme.

During the briefing, the minister announced that Barki Road in Lahore will be converted into a dual carriageway at a cost of Rs. 2.24 billion. He added that the expansion of Kashmiri Bazaar, along with the construction of new underpasses and flyovers, is also part of the upcoming projects.

Another key initiative includes the dualization of Sheikhupura to Farooqabad Road, which will cost around Rs. 6.94 billion. The minister instructed all departments to complete the necessary formalities without delay to ensure timely execution.

Malik Sohaib emphasized that these projects align with the Chief Minister of Punjab’s vision of continuous progress and modernization. He added that the development drive will significantly improve the province’s infrastructure and strengthen its road communication network.
