The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved development projects worth Rs. 9.3 billion, aiming to strengthen skill development, improve governance and provide better services to citizens.
The decisions were made during the PDWP’s 26th meeting, led by Planning and Development Board Chairman Dr. Naeem Rauf.
One of the major projects includes Rs. 2.5 billion for expanding construction and hospitality labs under TEVTA, designed to improve vocational and technical training. Another Rs. 5.8 billion has been allocated for upgrading the Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s PPIC3 project in Lahore, ensuring modern security and monitoring systems.
In addition, the board gave approval to build a new Government College of Technology in Mandi Bahauddin, estimated at nearly Rs. 1 billion. Plans were also cleared for a training and resource center for Punjab Assembly members and a citizen-focused legal support system.

The meeting further endorsed the second phase of the Smart Safe Cities Project which will be launched across 19 districts. Senior provincial officials, including the Secretary of the Planning and Development Board, the Chief Economist, and representatives from key departments, attended the session.
