Islamabad, July 4, 2025: The Punjab administration has announced plans to construct new elementary classrooms in 1,139 educational institutions throughout the province. The complete funding allocated for this scheme stands at Rs. 250 million.

This project is designed to boost the infrastructure for Early Childhood Education (ECE) and cater to the increasing demand for enhanced learning spaces in public sector schools.

As per the strategy, every chosen school will be granted Rs. 250,000 to purchase books, classroom furniture, and educational kits.

The authorities will directly deposit the amount for constructing ECE classrooms into the accounts of school principals, who will oversee the completion of construction within the set timeframe.

In the past, Punjab set up 5,000 ECE classrooms across the province, with 209 established in Lahore alone. Nonetheless, recent evaluations revealed that 80 percent of these schools now possess damaged ECE kits distributed by the government three years ago.
