Islamabad, 11 June 2025: Punjab Budget preparations are now entering their final phase, with insiders suggesting that the provincial government is expected to present its financial blueprint for FY2024–25 on June 13, shortly after the federal budget announcement.
According to sources within the Finance Ministry, Punjab’s upcoming budget is likely to avoid introducing any new taxes, reflecting a strategy focused on economic stability and public relief.
The government is reportedly aiming to keep adjustments to existing tax rates minimal, indicating a cautious approach towards revenue generation in light of current inflationary pressures.
Officials close to the matter say that the Lahore Revenue Authority has proposed broadening the tax net by incorporating several non-tax-paying sectors, instead of imposing higher taxes on existing contributors.
