Punjab Government has taken a major step for child laborers by directing schools across the province to enroll children working in workshops, hotels and brick kilns.
The School Education Department has issued clear instructions that no child should be forced into labor and district administrations have been told to identify these deprived children.
According to the Education Department, the identified children will be formally admitted to schools. Those who are older in age will be offered seats in evening classes. Alongside this, a monitoring system will be set up to ensure their regular attendance and progress.

The department has further ordered school heads, DEOs, deputy DEOs and AEOs to implement these instructions without delay.
