The Punjab Police uniform budget has been increased from Rs. 680 million to Rs. 1.36 billion for the current financial year, allowing the force to purchase nearly 225,000 uniform sets along with related gear.
Police officials said that last year 139 uniform sets could not be procured due to financial limitations. With the revised Punjab Police uniform budget, the upcoming purchase will cover uniforms, jackets, T-shirts, shoes, and other equipment.
The Inspector General of Punjab Police has instructed that the pre-qualification process for vendors begin this month. Advertisements inviting suppliers to apply are expected to be issued within two days. Officials added that minor changes have also been made to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure more transparent and efficient procurement.
