Islamabad, May 20, 2025: Amid rising temperatures across Punjab, the School Education Department has issued two separate notifications revising school timings and declaring summer vacations for both public and private educational institutions.
According to the issued notification, all public in Punjab will run under revised timings from 21 May to 27 May 2025. The measure was taken to protect students and staff from extreme heatwave.

As per the updated schedule, students will attend school from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM between Monday and Friday. For teachers, the revised timing will be:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:15 am to 12:00 noon
- Friday: 7:15 am to 11:30 am
- Alternate Saturdays: 7:30 am to 10:30 am
Meanwhile, teachers have also been directed to remain on duty for additional academic and administrative responsibilities.
Schools to Shut Down for Summer Vacations
In another notification, the Punjab government declared summer vacations for all public and private schools from 28 May to 14 August 2025.

Schools will reopen on 15th August 2025.
Notably, all afternoon shift schools will observe an early closure beginning 21 May 2025, also due to the extreme heat.
These timely measures come as a relief to students and staff alike, ensuring their health and safety amid scorching heat across Punjab.
