People living in Punjab have something to be happy about, as the Punjab government has started a free Wi-Fi service in Rahim Yar Khan. This latest step, started on Monday, is part of the government’s ongoing plan to improve internet access across the area.
Residents of Rahim Yar Khan can now enjoy free internet at many main locations such as Adda Khanpur, City Pull, School Bazaar, the railway station, Jail Chowk, and Hospital Chowk.
The internet service is available from Dari Sangi to Chak No 72-PN, helping students, locals, and visitors stay connected to the world easily.

This is part of a larger digital plan, with more than 200 free Wi-Fi points already working in Lahore and a total of 270 spots now active in 11 districts across Punjab.
The Punjab Safe Cities Authority, which is handling the project, has also brought this facility to cities including Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Gujrat, Jhelum, Attock, Sahiwal, Okara, and Murree

According to the Safe Cities Authority, over 13 million users have used the free Wi-Fi so far, with more than 265 terabytes of data used. This service is made to help people in their daily lives, though it is not meant for emergency calls, watching videos, or online fun.
This step forward in internet access is being done under the guidance of the Chief Minister, as Punjab moves ahead in becoming a fully connected and smart region.
