Islamabad, Sep 9: Markup-free loans to Farmers in keeping with the Kisan-friendly agenda of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, will lend five lakh farmers in the province, including those in the district of Hafizabad, Rs. 75 billion at no interest.
Deputy Commissioner Abdul Razzaq made this declaration at the district complex in Hafizabad to kick off the distribution of Kisan Cards to growers.
According to him, the government was doing everything within its power to implement a revolution in agriculture, as it was the foundation of the country’s economy.
According to him, farmers are granted Kisan cards based solely on merit, guaranteeing that no worthy grower is left out of the advantages.
On this occasion, Deputy Director of Agriculture Muhammad Yousaf announced that 10,000 Kisan Cards would be given out to farmers in phases, with employees from the Agriculture Department and Punjab Bank issuing the cards at two locations in the district set aside specifically for this purpose.
Additionally, he disclosed that Markup-free loans to Farmers who had Kisan Cards would be eligible for a loan of Rs. 30,000 per acre, and any grower with five acres of land holding a Kisan Card would receive a markup-free loan of Rs. 1,50,000 to purchase agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides.
He said that the government was taking all possible measures to bring agriculture revolution in the country because agriculture was backbone of national economy.
Kisan cards are being given to farmers on merit so that no nay deserving grower deprive of benefits of Kisan Cards, he added.
