The Punjab Wildlife and Parks Department has rescued six lions trapped in floodwaters at a farmhouse near the river Ravi. The lions were stranded after heavy rains caused water levels to rise but the wildlife rangers managed a successful operation despite the difficult conditions.

According to the department spokesperson, the rescue involved four boats and veterinary doctors who ensured the animals safety. Senior Punjab Minister Maryam Aurangzeb praised the rangers for their bravery, saying their dedication saved the lions from a dangerous situation.

She added that protecting wildlife remains a top priority for the Punjab government and assured that no living creature would be left helpless in emergencies. The minister also called the Wildlife Rangers and Rescue Force the pride of the nation.
