The school timings for all public and private schools across Punjab have been changed, according to which no school will open before 8:45 AM.
A formal notification regarding the change in school timings has been issued by the Director General of Environment, Imran Hameed Sheikh. According to the announcement, the new timings will be implemented immediately, and any school found violating the order will be fined between 500,000 to 1,000,000 rupees.
The DG Environment stated that in case of any violation or complaint, citizens can report through the EPA helpline 1373 or the Green Punjab app.

Environmental experts have welcomed this decision, saying that the delayed start of schools will help reduce morning traffic rush and the effects of smog, which will have a positive impact on public health.
