Islamabad, Apr 8, 2025: Punjab Police has launched a groundbreaking digital license system, enabling drivers throughout the province to store their driving permits on their smartphones.
The primary goal of this innovation is to combat unlicensed driving while simplifying the verification process for traffic officials.
By utilizing the Punjab e-license system, drivers can now effortlessly access their permits through their mobile phones.
Driving License Verification and Compliance
To tackle the issue of unlicensed driving, Traffic Police Punjab has kicked off an awareness drive urging citizens to secure proper driving permits through both theoretical and practical exams, ensuring that they adhere to legal requirements.
Motorists operating motorcycles, cars, or heavy vehicles without a legitimate license could face penalties or legal repercussions.
To make things more convenient for drivers, Punjab Police has rolled out the Punjab e-license system, which allows users to download their digital driving permits directly to their smartphones.

This will serve as an official, law-recognized document when needed by traffic authorities.
Steps to Download the Punjab e-License
Eligible citizens can access the e-license by visiting the official website: dlims.punjab.gov.pk.
Go to the “License Information” section and click on “E-License.”
Input your CNIC number and date of birth.
Press the “Download” button to obtain your digital license in PDF format.
Punjab Driving License Fee Structure
For new applicants, Traffic Police Punjab charges a nominal test fee of PKR 150. The fee schedule for obtaining a driving license is outlined below:
One-year license: PKR 1,980
Two-year license: PKR 3,330
Three-year license: PKR 4,680
Four-year license: PKR 6,030
Five-year license: PKR 7,380
This initiative aims to make the licensing process more efficient and eliminate the need for carrying physical license copies.
