Islamabad, Aug 8: To protect the authenticity of car registrations and prevent the use of fake documents, the Excise Department has implemented a mandatory online verification procedure for imported vehicle documentation.
According to this policy, it is no longer permitted to register imported cars in Lahore or the rest of Punjab without first completing an online document verification process.Requests for access to customs administrations’ online verification systems for imported car documents have been made in writing.
Through this partnership, the registration process will be streamlined and only legitimately registered automobiles will be allowed to be registered. Customs officers have also stressed that, in an effort to prevent the unlawful registration of automobiles with falsified documentation, vehicles bought through auctions will also need to be verified before being registered.
