Islamabad, June 23, 2025: In a significant move to enhance traffic regulation, Punjab authorities issued 26,489 driving licenses within the last 24 hours. During this timeframe, 40,593 incidents of traffic rule violations were noted, resulting in challans amounting to Rs. 24 million.

As part of an extensive environmental initiative, 600 vehicles emitting excessive smoke were fined. Among these, 91 were seized for non-compliance with pollution control standards.

Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar stressed the need to continue strict actions against those violating traffic laws. He further called for an effective recovery of outstanding traffic fines from defaulters. He emphasised on the department’s resolve to promote safe driving practices and ensure cleaner, safer roads across Punjab.

In a separate update, official statistics indicate that Tahaffuz Marakaz throughout Punjab have supported 33,893 individuals so far this year. 16,483 women, 12,622 minors, and 4,788 transgenders had seek assistance.
