Islamabad, July 21, 2025: In a big move by Punjab Police, almost 30,000 driving licenses were issued in just one day across the province.
As per official numbers, 29,694 people got their licenses through the City Traffic Police (CTP) departments under the Driving License Issuance Management System (DLIMS). This system is designed to make the license process quick and easy for everyone.
Alongside issuing licenses, the traffic police also took firm steps to control traffic violations. More than 51,000 challans were issued in a single day. These fines added up to around Rs. 44 million.

Vehicles causing air pollution were also targeted. A total of 402 vehicles releasing smoke were fined. In serious cases, 35 vehicles were seized and moved to police stations.
The effort is part of a wider campaign to improve road safety and reduce pollution across Punjab.
