Islamabad, Mar 24, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has introduced a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering women in rural areas through digital education. Under this six-month IT and digital skills training program, thousands of women will gain essential technical expertise to enhance their career prospects.
As part of the initiative, 27,000 rural women will be awarded scholarships to complete their online training. After successfully finishing the course, participants will also receive desktop computers and free Wi-Fi devices.
Ensuring they have the necessary resources to apply their new skills. The Punjab Skills Development Department will supervise the IT training process to maintain high-quality learning standards.

Speaking about the project, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz highlighted that the goal is to provide rural women with technological knowledge, enabling them to work as freelancers, establish tech startups, and operate online businesses from home.
