A new “One App” has been developed to take strong action against traffic violations, tax defaulters and smoke-emitting vehicles across Punjab.

Created under the supervision of DIG Traffic Waqas Nazir and with the support of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), the digital system aims to connect nine government departments on a single platform for better coordination and quick response.

According to officials, the app brings together the Traffic Police, Excise Department, Punjab Highway Patrol, Transport Department, District Government, Environment Department, Safe Cities Authority and other related institutions.

As part of the development plan, the One App will be launched as a pilot project in one district from Monday before expanding to other areas of the province.

The app features 11 digital modules designed for vehicle checking and record verification. By simply uploading a photo of a vehicle’s number plate, users can instantly access complete vehicle details.

So far, more than 300,000 mobile numbers have been registered in the system. Once a video or photo of a violation is uploaded, the system will automatically send an e-challan and barcode message to the concerned vehicle owner.

Authorities say the One App will make it easier to track stolen vehicles, identify tax defaulters, and monitor smoke-emitting cars in real time. After the Chief Minister’s inauguration, the system will be officially launched later this month.
