The Rawalpindi Ring Road Project is set to reshape the region’s economic and urban landscape, as the Punjab government moves forward with plans to designate 500 meters of land on both sides of the route for development.
These zones will include economic districts, a medical city, tourism facilities, wholesale markets, and a truck terminal to ease logistics pressure in the twin cities.
During a meeting held at the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Director General Kinza Murtaza emphasized that the project aims to reduce traffic congestion in Rawalpindi and Islamabad while creating cleaner, safer, and more organized urban spaces.
She added that the development would open doors for new job opportunities and attract investment, ultimately strengthening the regional economy.
