Islamabad, June 19, 2025: n preparation for the holy month of Muharram, the Punjab Police has rolled out a strict security plan to maintain law and order during religious gatherings and processions across the province.

The security advisory, issued under the leadership of Additional IG Operations Zahid Nawaz Marwat, instructs all senior police officials—including CCPO Lahore, RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs—to implement full-scale protective measures. Police officials will directly supervise security arrangements for processions, majalis, and other religious activities.

According to Zahid Nawaz Marwat, no religious gathering or procession will be permitted outside the officially approved routes and designated venues. He also highlighted the need for strong coordination with peace committees, religious scholars, and event organizers to ensure smooth execution of Muharram events.

“The use of loudspeakers will be strictly monitored under the Loudspeaker Act, and unauthorized drones flying over majalis or processions will be strictly prohibited,” he stated. “Any breach of these directives will lead to swift legal action.”

Special security arrangements are also being put in place at sensitive sites, including mosques, imambargahs, and minority religious centers. Traffic police have been directed to manage processional routes to prevent congestion and ensure public convenience.
