Islamabad, Aug 4, 2025: Punjab Police held candlelight vigils throughout the province to commemorate fallen police martyrs and recognize those who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
As shared by the Punjab Police representative, the formal observances for Police Martyrs Day commenced with the lighting of candles.
These gatherings were attended by Regional Police Officers (RPOs), City Police Officers (CPOs), District Police Officers (DPOs), high-ranking officials, families of the martyrs, community leaders and, a large number of citizens.

Candles were illuminated at remembrance monuments, citizen service centers, and various other spots to pay respect to the martyred officers. Police Martyrs’ Day is commemorated across the country on August 4 each year.
In his statement, Inspector General Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar stated that the noble sacrifices of the martyred police personnel will never be forgotten. He further said that the martyrs are a symbol of courage and commitment to the country, and assured that their families are receiving full support and care.
