Islamabad, 11 June 2025: 2025–26 Budget preparations in Punjab are underway, with the provincial government set to present an expansive development agenda aimed at infrastructure growth and public service improvement.

According to sources familiar with the planning process, the annual development programme will feature a total of 2,750 projects, combining both new and ongoing initiatives across various sectors.

Out of these, 1,412 are ongoing schemes, for which an allocation of Rs536 billion has been proposed reflecting the government’s commitment to ensure continuity of essential public works already in progress.

In addition to continuing projects, the 2025–26 Budget also proposes the launch of 1,353 new development schemes, with a funding proposal of Rs457 billion set aside to finance fresh initiatives across health, education, infrastructure, and rural uplift.

This balanced approach sustaining existing projects while introducing transformative new schemes is intended to accelerate economic activity and improve the standard of living across Punjab.

Budget planners say that the development portfolio reflects regional priorities and the broader policy direction set by the provincial leadership, which seeks to combine fiscal responsibility with targeted growth.
