Lahore: According to information released on July 10, the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) approved a number of major development projects worth over PKR 24 billion.
The meeting, which was presided over by Barrister Nabeel Awan, approved about PKR 9 billion for the solar power systems project, which aims to improve the efficiency and sustainability of agricultural practices in the province. In addition, the PDWP approved a number of other significant projects, including a PKR 848.97 million scheme to prevent erosion of the left bank of the River Chenab in the Hafizabad district, specifically at Kot Kameer and Behak Ahmad Yar.With a PKR 3.8 billion budget, a 45-kilometer section from the Makuana bypass to the Syedwala Okara road via the Syedwala Interchange Motorway M-3 was also approved.
The PKR 530 million restoration and enhancement of Ghazi Road, which links Ferozepur Road and Ring Road in the Lahore district, is another noteworthy project that has been approved. Furthermore, the PDWP authorized road restoration projects worth PKR 1.32 billion in Nankana Sahib district, PKR 3.451 billion in Okara district, and PKR 5.49 billion in Sahiwal district. These approvals demonstrate the province’s strong emphasis on enhancing infrastructure. Key authorities included Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, the secretary of the Agriculture Department, Dr. Asif Tufail, the secretary of the P&D Board, Nasir Iqbal Malik, the chief economist, and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
