Islamabad, Aug 21: The Punjab Chief Minister declared on Tuesday that the school lunch program’s pilot phase will start in southern Punjab on September 5 and that it will eventually be expanded to other towns in the province, including Lahore.
“By giving milk packets to students from nursery through fifth grade, this initiative is designed to combat nutritional deficiencies,” the chief minister said at an event honoring the Punjab Boards’ top achievers.
Maryam Nawaz expressed her confidence that these kids will represent Pakistan with pride on the international arena by pointing out that, of the 138 position holders from nine boards in Punjab, 70 are girls and 68 are boys.
Rana Sikandar Hayat, the minister of education for Punjab, declared earlier this month that the School Meal Program would begin in September, starting in three South Punjabi districts.
