The Punjab Government has announced a major tax relief for citizens and businesses by suspending taxes on transport and property leases. After receiving approval from the provincial cabinet, the Finance Department of Punjab has officially issued an amended notification to implement the decision.

According to the new amendment, all public transport services in the province will now be completely exempt from taxation. Private passenger transport has also been granted partial tax relief, easing the financial burden on operators in the sector.

Officials from the Finance Department stated that no sales tax will be charged on property rented or leased in Punjab. This means homeowners, shop owners, and commercial plaza landlords renting out their spaces will not have to pay any tax on rental income.
