Islamabad, July 30, 2025: In a major leap toward green public transport, Pakistan is set to receive its first fleet of electric buses directly from China. A total of 1,100 electric buses are currently being manufactured, with the initial batch of 240 buses scheduled to arrive on August 22, 2025, Insha’Allah.

These modern electric buses will be deployed in smaller districts of Pakistan that have never had any form of organized public transport before. This marks a historic shift for rural and underdeveloped areas, offering affordable, accessible, and eco-friendly mobility for the first time.

Each bus is air-conditioned, equipped with CCTV cameras for passenger safety, and features built-in ramps to accommodate wheelchair users—making the fleet inclusive and future-ready.

The fare for passengers has been set at just Rs 20, making it one of the most economical transport solutions in the country. This move not only promotes sustainability but also ensures financial relief for low-income communities relying on daily transport.
