Additional Director General Excise, Rizwan Akram Sherwani, has directed that a new design be prepared. The proposal also includes switching from the traditional black-and-white plates to colored plates for better clarity and recognition.
The new number plates will be designed keeping in view Safe City surveillance cameras as well as enhanced security features. Once the design receives formal approval, the department will initiate the necessary regulatory procedures, sources said.
