The School Education Department has made a final decision to make a teaching license mandatory for teachers. This license will be issued through a test and will be valid for five years.

The license will consist of three categories: Primary, Elementary, and Secondary. From now on, new recruitments and promotions will only be given to teachers who possess this license. The test syllabus will include school subjects, general knowledge, and IT skills.

Currently, no final decision has been made regarding the agency that will conduct the test. However, the license will be mandatory for teachers in both public and private sectors. No teacher will be allowed to teach in a school without this license.
