Punjab Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique has said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz envisions providing villages with the same modern facilities as urban centers.
He described the Model Village Programme as a game-changer for rural Punjab, under which water supply and drainage systems will be developed, dirt streets paved, and children’s parks constructed.
In the first phase, 550 villages across the province have been selected, including 64 in Rawalpindi, 51 in Lahore, 64 in Gujranwala, 53 in Gujrat, 49 in Sahiwal, 51 in DG Khan, 61 in Bahawalpur, 37 in Faisalabad, 45 in Sargodha, and 75 in Multan.
