Islamabad, Sep 28: Punjab Tourism Funding: Major Investment for Murree and Galyat Development
The Punjab government has earmarked Rs. 520 million to enhance winter tourism in Murree and Galyat. This funding aims to attract more visitors and improve their experience during the winter season.
A major focus of the initiative is to upgrade road access and safety in these areas. Plans include efficient snow removal and road expansions, particularly in Galyat, to minimize disruptions from heavy snowfall.
Additionally, the initiative will secure landslide-prone areas, which are particularly vulnerable during winter due to snow and ice.
To address common water shortages in the region, projects for water supply and the construction of storage tanks are also planned to benefit both residents and tourists.
The Punjab Tourism Funding administration will handle snow clearing and road maintenance within Punjab, while the Galyat Development Authority will manage road upkeep and drinking water supply in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).
Furthermore, the Murree district administration will ensure the maintenance of roads connecting Punjab, Azad Kashmir, and Galyat to improve tourist connectivity.
