Islamabad, 28 Apr, 2025: Punjab University has officially declared that all students aspiring to enroll in undergraduate courses for the academic year 2025–26 must participate in the PU Admission Test, set to take place on Sunday, 15th June 2025.
Eligibility for the entrance test includes students who have either completed their Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or an equivalent qualification, as well as those awaiting their final results.
Test Categories and Format
The entrance examination will assess applicants across seven distinct fields:
- Pre-Engineering (PU-E)
- Pre-Medical (PU-M)
- Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (PU-AHS)
- ICS with Physics Combination (PU-CSP)
- ICS with Statistics Combination (PU-CSS)
- General Science (PU-GS)
- Commerce (PU-COM)
Officials from Punjab University explained that the test scores would contribute 25% towards the overall merit calculation.

They also clarified that test results from previous years would not be accepted for the current admission cycle.
Test Locations and Registration Process
The examination is scheduled to be conducted in major cities throughout Pakistan. Interested candidates must register online through the official portal: http://admissiontest.pu.edu.pk.
A non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 2500 is required, payable via HBL, UBL, or mobile banking services (1Bill). Applicants must upload a clear proof of payment as part of their registration process.
Additional Criteria for Specific Disciplines
Certain academic streams demand further qualifications. Those applying to engineering programs may submit results from either the PU Admission Test, ECAT (University of Engineering and Technology), or SAT scores.
For candidates seeking admission to LLB programs, passing both the Law Admission Test (LAT) and the PU Admission Test is compulsory.
Applicants for Art and Design courses must not only pass the written test but also clear a separate practical examination to be eligible.

Punjab University emphasised that the final date for online registration is 26th May 2025, urging all candidates to complete the necessary steps well before the deadline.
