Islamabad, May 29, 2025: Punjab University has issued a formal notice stating that all 27 of its hostels will be fully vacated over the summer vacation period. As per the notification, the hostels will stay closed from June 6 until August 27.
Unlike previous years, the administration has adopted a firmer approach this time. Only foreign students will be permitted to stay in university hostels during the holiday. Final-semester students working on their thesis projects will be required to obtain written approval from university authorities in order to reside on campus.
Departments intending to continue academic or research work throughout the break must also seek official permission if any of their students require hostel accommodation.

Previously, students were often allowed to remain in hostels at their own convenience during summer holidays. However, the latest decision is intended to ensure that the buildings are fully vacated except in cases where special authorization is granted, most likely to allow for maintenance and security arrangements.
