Punjab is set to host its inaugural Transport Expo under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, promoting the province’s Transport Vision 2030. The event will take place on September 4–5, 2025, at the Expo Centre in Lahore and is expected to highlight game-changing transport technologies, road safety, accessibility, and eco-friendly mobility solutions.
The Transport & Mass Transit Department of Punjab has confirmed that the Expo will be the first of its kind in the province, aimed at presenting a forward-looking approach to urban and regional mobility.
According to the official event site, the Expo will present a broad spectrum of initiatives, including the Metrobus system, electric bus fleets, SRT trams, e-taxi schemes, and even a proposed glass train connecting Pindi-Islamabad with Murree. The fair will also spotlight new energy vehicle policies, including the deployment of 1,100 electric buses and facilities for electric vehicle charging.
Further features include road safety initiatives such as 35 Vehicle Inspection & Certification stations, the Punjab Road Safety Authority, and smart transport systems. Visitors can also expect improved customer experience tools like unified smart fare cards, digital complaint management, and women-friendly facilities with CCTV coverage.
The Expo, which offers free admission, is positioned as a milestone in the province’s push for inclusive, sustainable, and safe transportation, aligning with global mobility trends
