Islamabad 4: In a major move toward digital governance, the Punjab Local Government Department has developed a mobile application that allows citizens to obtain vital documents — including birth, death, and marriage certificates — without visiting government offices.
According to officials, the app is designed to streamline the application process, enabling users to apply for certificates, upload required documents, and pay fees online from the comfort of their homes. Once processed, the certificate will be delivered directly to the applicant’s doorstep.
“This is an important step toward easing public access to essential services,” a department official said. “Our goal is to make citizen services more efficient, transparent, and accessible through digital solutions.”
The initiative is aimed at eliminating long queues, reducing bureaucratic delays, and curbing the need for multiple in-person visits — a common frustration for citizens seeking official documentation.
The Local Government Department confirmed that the app will be officially launched in the coming days, with further details on availability and user instructions to follow.
