Islamabad, 28 May 2025: ‘Teaching Opportunities for Pakistan’s skilled academic professionals have received a boost as Qatar opens its doors for experienced teachers through an official announcement from Pakistan’s Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC).
Operating under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, OEC has launched a recruitment initiative on behalf of a leading Qatari educational institution.
The advertisement, made public on May 27, 2025, details the required qualifications, job roles, compensation packages, and employment benefits.
The roles target teachers with expertise and proven experience, especially those familiar with the British education system.
Vacancies and Requirements
Key Positions Open for Qualified Teachers in Core Subjects
As per the recruitment details, three categories of teaching positions are currently available for Pakistani nationals:
- Secondary English Teacher (IGCSE level)
Candidates must hold either a two-year bachelor’s degree followed by a master’s in English or a four-year integrated degree in the same field. A minimum of 3–5 years of relevant classroom experience is required, preferably in institutions offering the British Curriculum. Two positions are open. - Primary Global Citizenship Teacher (Social Studies)
Applicants must have academic qualifications in subjects such as Sociology, Archaeology, History, Urban Planning, or Geography. As with the other roles, 3–5 years of experience in British Curriculum schools is preferred. One position is available. - Kindergarten/Homeroom Teacher
A degree requirement similar to the above applies, with a preference for candidates holding a Montessori Diploma. Prior experience in early childhood education, ranging from 3 to 5 years, is essential. Two posts are open.
Salary and Benefits
Competitive Packages for Qualified Candidates
‘Teaching Opportunities for Pakistan’s’ professionals in Qatar come with promising monthly salaries. Depending on qualifications:
- Primary Teachers: Up to QAR 4,700 with a Master’s; QAR 4,300 with a Bachelor’s.
- Secondary Teachers: As high as QAR 4,900 for Master’s holders; QAR 4,500 for Bachelor’s.
- Kindergarten Teachers: Up to QAR 4,500 for Master’s; QAR 4,100 for Bachelor’s.
Benefits include shared villa accommodations for female teachers, while male teachers receive a monthly housing stipend of QAR 700. The schools do not offer family accommodation, but return airfare is provided every two years.
Medical coverage is included, along with summer salary benefits paid in full only after completing a two-month summer break.
Employees will receive an end-of-service gratuity after one year of continuous service. Free daily transport from residence to school and back is also offered. A probationary period of three months, with possible extension, applies.
All selected candidates are expected to bear their own travel and processing expenses, including airfare to Qatar.
