Islamabad, Dec 14: The Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games trophy was revealed at a grand ceremony on Friday at Jinnah Stadium, Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad. The prestigious unveiling was carried out by Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s Olympic gold medallist in javelin throw, in the presence of top officials and aspiring athletes.
In his speech, Arshad Nadeem emphasized the importance of nurturing young talent in Pakistan, saying, “This is a significant step towards promoting sports in Pakistan. It will provide young athletes with a platform to showcase their talent, and I hope it will help produce international-level players for the country.” His words resonated with the audience, highlighting a strong commitment to developing the next generation of athletes.
Yasir Pirzada, Director General of the Pakistan Sports Board, spoke about the event’s goals, stating, “This event aims to spotlight the existing sports talent in the country and offer young athletes opportunities to grow. We believe these competitions will play a key role in bringing new talent to the forefront.” He also emphasized the importance of creating a robust sports culture in Pakistan to inspire future champions.
The Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games will officially open on Saturday at Jinnah Stadium, Islamabad, with teams from across Pakistan competing, including representatives from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Islamabad.
The games will feature various disciplines such as athletics, badminton, boxing, football, hockey, judo, kabaddi, karate, squash, swimming, taekwondo, table tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, and wrestling. The event will conclude with a grand closing ceremony where winners will be awarded trophies and accolades for their hard work and achievements.
The Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games aim to inspire Pakistan’s youth, offering a platform to showcase their athletic skills. By promoting sports and uncovering new talent, the games seek to elevate Pakistan’s standing in global sports and foster a passionate sports culture.
