Islamabad, Sep 11: The nation’s father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, celebrated his 76th birthday with the appropriate solemnity and a commitment to upholding his ideals of “unity, faith, and discipline.”
Special prayers were said in mosques and other places of worship at the crack of dawn for the departed soul’s ultimate rest as well as for the nation’s peace and prosperity.The All-India Muslim League was led by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah from 1913 until August 14, 1947, when Pakistan was established.
He died on September 11, 1948, not long after the country gained its independence.Today, Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television are honoring Quaid-e-Azam for his unparalleled contributions to Pakistan’s independence with special programming.
The great statesman received solemn tributes in recognition of his crucial contribution to the founding of Pakistan. People from all walks of life came at the Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi to honor the memory of Quran Khawani and Fateha Khawani. Officials and political figures visited the mausoleum as a sign of respect.
Less than a year after Pakistan gained independence, on September 11, 1948, Muhammad Ali Jinnah passed away.
