Islamabad, June 24, 2025: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has warned that strong monsoon rain will start from 25th June, 2025 in different areas of Punjab. An alert for possible urban flooding in low-lying areas has also been issued. A notice is issued to all departments and district officers, asking them to stay alert.
According to Met Office, humid winds are entering from Arabian Sea into upper and central Punjab, and bringing significant rainfall, particularly from June 26 onwards. Many Punjab cities like Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sialkot and others are expected to see heavy rain and windstorms.
Similarly, rainfall is also expected in Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan, Multan, Khanewal, and Lodhran between June 26 and 28.

Key Risks
Occasional dry intervals are expected, but the risk of flooding remains high.
- Very heavy rain can cause flash floods in small rivers and hill areas of Murree and D.G. Khan.
- Big cities like Rawalpindi and Lahore may face water flooding in low areas.
- Landslides might block roads in hilly areas like Murree.
- Strong winds may damage rooftops, electric poles, billboards and solar plates.
- Lightning and storm may also disturb daily life.

What Public Should Do
Farmers should plan their work according to weather. Travelers and tourists should be careful and avoid risky areas during this time.
All emergency teams, including Rescue 1122, are told to stay ready. PDMA will also keep sharing weather updates daily so people can stay informed and safe.
