Islamabad, June 28, 2025: Clouds hovered over Karachi on Saturday as light rain and drizzle hit several parts of the city. According to the Met Office, intermittent rainfall is expected to continue across the port city till June 29.
Seabreeze has come to a halt, with winds shifting to the northeast at a speed of 9 km/h. The ongoing showers are a result of the prevailing westerly wave affecting southern Sindh.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned of potential urban flooding in low-lying areas of Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpur Khas, Thatta, and Badin.
Widespread rainfall with thunder and strong winds is forecast for Karachi, Hyderabad, Badin, Sujawal, Jacobabad, Ghotki, Sanghar, Tharparkar, and adjoining districts. Some areas may receive heavy rainfall, increasing the risk of local flooding.
Monsoon activity remains active across Pakistan. The Met Office expects further showers in Punjab, Balochistan, KP, and Kashmir, with heavy spells in select regions.

Yesterday, Mithi recorded the highest rainfall at 53mm, followed by 45mm in Tharparkar. The next monsoon spell is expected to start from July 5, the PMD added.
