The Divisional Intelligence Committee, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has started an operation against unlicensed housing projects in Taxila. According to an RDA representative, the Task Force has stepped up its continuous battle against these unapproved developments.
Eight unlawful housing complexes located in Tehsil Taxila, District Rawalpindi, including Mouzas Lab Thatho, Niko, Bhoti Pind, Buddu, Gari Afghana, and Bajar, were the focus of the operation conducted by the RDA Enforcement Squad. According to the spokeswoman, the Enforcement Squad went on to seal and demolish site offices and land subdivisions connected to these unlawful operations. The Director General of RDA, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Muhammad Abdul Aamir Khattak, gave the order for this action to be taken, the Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner, the Rawalpindi City Police Officer, and the Additional DG of RDA.
The spokesman revealed that the proprietors of these housing projects continued to run booking offices against the law despite earlier warnings to stop illicit operations like ads, plot bookings, and development work. In order to shield citizens from deceit and exploitation, the Director General of RDA stressed that the crackdown on unlawful housing organizations would continue unabatedly under the Commissioner’s direction. The RDA has asked the public to check the status of all housing societies on its website, www.rda.gop.pk, and to refrain from investing in any illegal housing schemes.
Mehwish Naseem, assistant director of planning at RDA, Muhammad Usman Bajwa, assistant director of building control at RDA, leader of the Enforcement Squad, RDA Scheme/Building Inspectors, and other team members were part in the operation.
