Islamabad, Jan 12: In a move to enhance regulatory oversight, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has instructed private housing societies to promptly submit reports on their adherence to established rules and regulations. This directive came during a meeting held on Saturday, chaired by Additional Director General Awais Manzoor Tarar.
The meeting was convened to review the compliance of various private housing schemes with the Private Housing Scheme (PHS) Rules and the approved Layout Plans (LOPs). Representatives from key RDA departments, including Engineering, Estate Management, Planning, and Building Control, were in attendance, highlighting the comprehensive approach to regulatory enforcement.
During the session, attention was given to several critical areas, including the payment of required fees, levies, and fines, alongside ensuring that plot mortgages were in place. The discussion also covered the transfer of amenity plots to the RDA, a necessary step for maintaining urban development standards.
Mr. Tarar underscored the importance of full compliance with regulations, emphasizing that timely settlement of dues is crucial for the smooth functioning of housing societies. He reassured stakeholders of the RDA’s commitment to transparency, as well as the enforcement of legal and environmental standards across all housing projects.
In light of the meeting, the RDA pledged to take decisive steps in streamlining procedures to ensure that private housing societies strictly adhere to all applicable rules and regulations, further promoting sustainable development in the region.
